Finding An In-Person COO for a $20M Business

When Alex first approached us, his previous recruiting efforts had fallen flat.

He hired a recruiter who was sending him general managers from small businesses. He needed someone who could manage his team, impliment ERPs, and negotiate terms with vendors.

"This is a really stressful hire because it's going to be the person who runs the main day-to-day parts of our business."

The goal for Alex was to find someone who was able to jump in from Day 1 and take over the operations parts of All Security Equipment.

The in-person recruiting was a new step for our team. Working with Alex closely to define this role, we decided to recruit for 2 positions, COO & VP of Operations.

Given the in-person nature of the role, our candidate pool was smaller than normal.

But, we cast as wide of a net as possible and built out different personas that resonated for the COO role to get Alex his perfect hire.
