Bootstrapped, profitable DTC group that has scaled from $12M to $78M+ in net revenue in a few years (since 2020)
About the Company
Our client owns and operates three DTC brands across health, cleaning, and pets. Last year, over $40M was spent on paid media scaling the company's own products. This isn't an agency, it's an operator. Supply chain, creative, custom funnels, media buying, analytics, and customer service all happen under one roof.
Role Overview
This is a remote Product Manager role. This person will own everything from customer research and product roadmap through go-to-market strategy for the client's cleaning brand, reporting directly to the CEO. Peer group includes the creative manager, supply chain director, media buyers, marketplace lead, and ops manager. A sourcing team in China, in-house creative, media buyers, supply chain, and finance are already in place. What's needed is the operator who pulls all of it together to ship better products faster, position them right, and make sure customers actually find and love them.
Responsibilities
- Customer intelligence: Read every NPS response, support ticket, and review, and run surveys and calls so product decisions are grounded in what customers actually say, not guesses.
- Product roadmap: Build a product pipeline that compounds instead of one-off launches, and know which SKUs drive acquisition, which lift AOV, and which build retention.
- Go/no-go framework: Build and refine a new product criteria framework distilled from past wins and losses, and use it to make hard calls before a product eats six months of the team's time.
- Existing product fixes: Identify which current products are underperforming, why, and what to do about it, whether that is a formula change, a new form factor, or a full replacement, and move on it in weeks, not months.
- Development execution: Own the full development cycle from concept and formulation through testing and manufacturing, managing timelines, vendor communication, and launch across every sales channel.
- Compliance and channel fit: Think through regulatory, shipping, and platform policy realities before a product is designed, not after the box is printed, using AI and modern research tools to get up to speed fast on anything new.
- Go-to-market strategy: Decide how each product should launch, whether that is a paid media hero, a search-only play, creator seeding, or marketplace-first, and build that plan with media buyers and creative rather than handing it off.
- Positioning and offer strategy: Own the product brief, customer personas, purchase drivers, angles, and objection handling, and be the source of truth every buyer and CS rep comes to for what makes a product convert.
Who They're Looking For
- 5+ years in product management, brand management, or product marketing for a physical consumer product category like CPG, beauty, home goods, pet, or health, with e-commerce distribution. Pure software PM experience will not translate here.
- Has shipped real physical products from concept to market, written PRDs, worked with domestic and overseas factories, and managed samples, revisions, and launch timelines.
- Customer-obsessed in practice, has run surveys, read tickets, sat in CS queues, and can point to product decisions made because of what was heard.
- GTM fluency, has taken products from concept to launch across every sales channel, and knows what works for what kind of product.
- Writes clearly and often. PRDs, briefs, and FAQs are second nature.
- Strong operator energy. Finds what is broken, scopes the fix, pulls in the right peers, and ships it without being told.
- Willing to travel to China once a year for factory visits and sample work.
- Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research, regulatory work, content drafts, and analysis. Leverage is expected, not just hours.
This role is ideal for a hands-on product operator who wants one brand to know cold, direct access to the CEO, and real budget to back their judgment.
