About the Company

Our client is reinventing the safe industry with products designed for both security and style. Backed by over a century of family expertise, they've built a modern DTC brand that makes safekeeping accessible, convenient, and beautifully integrated into the home. From biometric fireproof safes to customizable storage solutions, their products protect valuables while complementing home aesthetics.

Role Overview

This person will lead the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning function, serving as the connective tissue between demand, supply, logistics, and financial performance. This role works directly with executive leadership, marketing, factories in Asia, freight partners, and warehouse teams to ensure the company stays in stock, cost-efficient, and positioned for profitable growth. The company operates with roughly 60-70 SKUs, but the supply chain is global and long-lead, with manufacturing taking up to two months and ocean freight taking four to six weeks.

Responsibilities

Sales & Demand Planning

  • Partner with the CEO and digital acquisition lead to translate demand forecasts into operational plans.
  • Build flexibility into the system to handle growth and uncertainty.
  • Design a practical SIOP cadence that keeps leadership aligned and forward-looking.

Inventory & Financial Stewardship

  • Maintain accurate inventory across roughly 60-70 SKUs with system-to-physical parity.
  • Balance service levels and working capital to protect profitability.
  • Drive landed cost awareness across purchasing and freight decisions.
  • Build guardrails that prevent both stockouts and excess inventory.

Global Supply & Factory Management

  • Own all factory relationships, POs, and production timelines across Asia.
  • Manage pricing conversations and track landed cost implications.
  • Anticipate long lead times and proactively manage risk.

International Freight & Domestic Distribution

  • Oversee inbound container shipments from Asia and Korea to the U.S.
  • Partner with freight forwarders and 3PLs to ensure cost-effective and reliable movement.
  • Allocate inventory strategically between Los Angeles and New Jersey warehouses.
  • Coordinate FTL and LTL carriers for large, high-value shipments.
  • Drive cost discipline across all freight decisions.

Returns, Damages & Recovery

  • Design and implement a structured workflow for damaged and returned goods.
  • Partner with warehouses to inspect, repair, recover, and return inventory to sellable status when possible.
  • Track warranty and freight claims and reduce leakage.

Who They're Looking For

  • A builder and owner who doesn't wait to be told what to do, brings options, surfaces tradeoffs, and takes accountability for outcomes.
  • Numerate and financially sharp, comfortable with numbers and understands how forecasting, freight, inventory, and margin connect, naturally thinking in terms of cost, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Analytically oriented, leans into data, and is comfortable designing simple but effective systems and improving them over time.
  • Ambitious and growth-minded, wants more responsibility, more visibility, direct relationships with senior leadership, and a chance to build something meaningful in a growing company.
  • A clear communicator who keeps internal partners aligned with proactive updates, crisp timelines, and documented decisions.
  • A process builder who enjoys creating simple, scalable workflows, especially around returns, damages, and inventory recovery.

Experience

  • 7-10+ years of progressive responsibility in supply chain, operations, or inventory planning.
  • Clear evidence of increasing ownership and trust in prior roles.
  • ERP/WMS exposure and comfort operating in data-driven environments.
  • Experience managing international supply chains and long lead times.
