Job Description

About the Company

Our client is a dog products company built around joy, connection, and the delightful chaos that defines the bond between dogs and their people. The client isn't just selling toys, it's on a mission to build the leading company in its category. It operates at the intersection of data, technology, and pure creativity, moving fast, testing relentlessly, and using real feedback from customers to build smarter systems, better products, and more meaningful experiences.

The Direct-to-Consumer team owns every touchpoint of the customer experience, from how people discover products to how they shop, subscribe, and come back for more, combining merchandising, technology, data, and creativity to create experiences customers love. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, and Operations to continuously improve how customers experience the client's site online.

Role Overview

The client is looking for a strategic, customer-focused Senior Manager of Site Merchandising who knows how to turn insights into better shopping experiences. This person will own how products are discovered, merchandised, promoted, and personalized across the client's site, always looking for ways to improve conversion, grow revenue, and help customers find exactly what they need.

This person will lead the promotional strategy, shape how the shopping experience is personalized, and partner across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Analytics to keep improving how the site performs. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, comfortable making decisions with data, and quick to test new ideas, embracing AI and automation where they make work smarter, freeing up time to focus on strategy, customer experience, and business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own the site merchandising strategy, promotional calendar, and pricing approach to drive revenue growth, increase average order value, and improve customer engagement.
  • Lead personalization, merchandising, and conversion optimization initiatives across the site by using customer insights, experimentation, and A/B testing to continuously improve performance.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to prioritize enhancements to product detail pages, navigation, taxonomy, search, and overall site functionality, creating a smoother shopping experience for customers.
  • Build scalable merchandising operations by using AI, automation, analytics, and platform capabilities to improve speed, accuracy, and decision making across the business.
  • Coach and develop a high-performing merchandising team while partnering with Marketing, Creative, Operations, Product, and Technology to deliver smooth customer experiences and successful product launches.

Who They're Looking For

  • 4-7 years of ecommerce merchandising experience in a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business, preferably within CPG or another consumer brand.
  • Experience managing and developing a small team, with a focus on coaching and accountability.
  • Strong Shopify experience, including merchandising, promotions, and product launches.
  • Proven success developing pricing and promotional strategies that drive revenue, conversion, and average order value.
  • Experience optimizing the online shopping experience through personalization, A/B testing, and merchandising best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Looker and Excel or Google Sheets, including working with large datasets.
  • Comfortable using AI, automation, and modern ecommerce tools to improve merchandising workflows and decision making.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time role. Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits are offered, designed to support employees and their pets, including comprehensive health coverage.
