Job Description

About the Company
Our client is one of the largest manufacturers in its industry, with a leadership team deeply involved in investing, acquisitions, podcasting, and weekly long-form YouTube content. The founder spends most of their time thinking about entrepreneurship, manufacturing, business ownership, and building companies, and generates far more ideas than currently get published.

Role Overview
This is an Editorial Lead / Writer role for someone who becomes the editorial extension of the founder's thinking. This person will own written content across LinkedIn and X and play a major role in improving a weekly newsletter. This is not primarily a copywriting job, it's an editorial judgment job: deciding which ideas deserve to exist, in what form, at what length, and whether the argument actually holds.

Responsibilities

  • Own LinkedIn and X strategy, writing, and editing in the founder's voice.
  • Edit and structure the weekly newsletter as an editorial product people look forward to receiving.
  • Build and maintain an idea pipeline, finding ideas buried in YouTube videos, podcast episodes, voice notes, transcripts, meetings, and operating decisions, and keeping them organized so the strong ones get written before they disappear.
  • Make judgment calls on format: knowing when an idea deserves five sentences, a thread, a 1,500-word essay, a newsletter section, or nothing at all.
  • Push back on incomplete thinking and sharpen arguments before they go out, improving the founder's thinking, not just cleaning up the prose.
  • Coordinate with a short-form creative lead and video/podcast teams so one underlying idea gets expressed properly in each medium instead of copy-pasted across them.

Who They're Looking For

  • Someone who interviews and listens well, and can identify the actual idea buried in a rambling voice note.
  • Strong editorial judgment: can tell the difference between an interesting observation and an actual insight.
  • Comfortable pushing back and preserving voice while sharpening the argument.
  • Clear writer and ruthless editor with real business understanding.
  • Background could be writing for a founder or creator, editing at a business publication, journalism, newsletter writing, ghostwriting, or an independent audience-built writing practice. Title matters far less than the work itself.
  • Comfortable fully remote, with occasional travel for content strategy sessions, recordings, and major shoots.
